DO MORE OF WHAT MATTERS

Volunteer training program

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The main goal of the DO MORE OF WHAT MATTERS project was to enhance social entrepreneurship skills among future volunteers. As part of the project, international partners, based on a pilot project, created an e-guide containing important steps in volunteer training. The guide is innovative because it is based on the “youth to youth” and “learning by doing” concepts.

The training consisted of a theoretical portion, which explained the basic principles of social capital, networking, building relationships, the importance of soft skills, and so on, as well as a practical portion, where participants learned about organizing a large-scale event like the FEP Workshop.

The first part of the DO MORE OF WHAT MATTERS training took place in Jedlnia-Letnisko from February 29th to March 1st, 2020. The training aimed to introduce the recruited ambassadors to the basics of soft skills and the process of acquiring new competencies.

The second part of the training took place in Copenhagen from November 1st to November 6th, 2021, where the ambassadors refreshed their knowledge of the values they learned during the training in Jedlnia-Letnisko. They also gained practical knowledge about team motivation and organizing teamwork.

After the theoretical parts, all the acquired knowledge was used in practice when, on January 21-23, 2022, volunteers and mentors organized a social initiative of the FEP Entrepreneurship Workshops for their peers and younger participants, in accordance with the project principles: “youth to youth” and “learning by doing”.
