Active Minds

A project that combined digital development, well-being, and action

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Active Minds was an international project of the My Future Foundation implemented under the Erasmus+ program, which took place in Poland in June. Forty-five young people from Poland, Armenia, and Spain, along with youth leaders, participated in the project, creating an intensive, 13-day space for learning, movement, and building relationships.

The project aimed to empower young people by combining digital competences, soft skills development, and sports activities, with a view to their professional future, mental well-being, and sense of empowerment. Participants developed practical digital skills (including online collaboration, communication, and media literacy) and also worked on key soft skills: collaboration, leadership, critical thinking, and intercultural communication.

The experiences of partner organizations and their daily work with youth have shown that young people involved in social and educational activities today need not only technical tools but also support in building mental resilience, self-confidence, and self-awareness. Project participants highlighted the need to work on their own strengths, plan their careers, and find a balance between professional development and well-being. Equally important to them was the opportunity to learn through action, movement, and collaboration with peers from other countries – in a safe, supportive environment.

In response to these needs, Active Minds relied on non-formal education methods, combining development workshops with regular physical activity and team sports. Movement and bodywork supported not only healthy habits but also building emotional resilience, stress management skills, and strengthening group relationships. Project activities fostered reflection on personal goals and values and the development of competencies needed in a dynamically changing job market.

Active Minds created a space for building international relationships, strengthening solidarity, and learning from each other. The project demonstrated that personal, professional, and emotional development can go hand in hand, and that young people—when provided with appropriate support and trust—can consciously and responsibly shape their future.
