MyFuture:
Imagine that you could send a letter to 18 years old yourself, right now – what would you write?
Barbara Rozanska:
The first thing that comes to my mind that I would write is that if you have a dream do follow it, and make it happen. Work hard for it and make improvements all the time. But for sure do what you are interested in and what you believe in.
Gain as much knowledge and education in that field and don’t stop learning- it is an ongoing process. I would also mention that there will be a lot of obstacles on the way, which will try to stop you but those will make you even stronger, towards achieving what you want. Follow your guts and be one step ahead, the world is changing constantly and competition is not sleeping. While you are sitting and watching that second episode on TV someone else is making the dreams come truth- nothing comes without effort.
MyFuture:
What are the main goals that you achieved in your life?
Barbara Rozanska:
Oh well… as every little girl once I wanted to be a princess but hmm… this didn’t really work out well! Hahahaha.
I always wanted to have a big family – and here I am with my husband and 6 kids and 5 grandchildren! So, I can say that I have accomplished this goal quite successfully. When it comes to my professional goals I had many, so I had something to choose from. Some of them didn’t come true, and some of them did but I am still working and have goals to achieve so let’s see…
One of my dreams was to organize and create spaces for grocery shops. I have always had a thing for trading and organizing thinks. I wanted to do it on a bigger scale. To some extent I did- I owe a self-service grocery shop.
Another one, that I consider a success is having a complex business, where different services are available for customers in one location. That’s how “Pod Rozami ” has been built. Now you can have different experiences in one building: events, shop,
pharmacy, hairdresser, hotel, restaurant, and entertainment.
MyFuture:
Would you rather try and fail or never try?
Barbara Rozanska:
I have had setbacks so may times, that I stopped counting… However, I think that my personality works this way, that whenever I fail I take it as a lesson which makes me stronger. You will never know unless you try! I think I wouldn’t forgive myself if I would have an opportunity and wouldn’t try- I am always up for a challenge.
MyFuture:
Why in your opinion people are so scared to make mistakes?
Barbara Rozanska:
If you make a mistake, you could ruin your chances of living the life you want.
One single mistake and you’re done. It’s essential that you get everything perfect before you start.
Right?
No!!! Somewhere along the way, we took a wrong turn. We learned to believe that mistakes are to be avoided like the plague.
We learned that perfection was essential, because only then would we be guaranteed success. But life doesn’t work like that.
There is no perfection. There is only incremental improvement. If there’s anything you should be afraid of, it’s not making any mistakes at all, because it’s a sure-fire path to failure.
Somebody very smart once said: “I’m good at learning from my own mistakes, I’m even better at learning from others.”
So yes it is better to look at examples and avoid those common mistakes. But if you want to try something new, believe me, or not, sooner or later you will make mistakes. And there is nobody in the whole world that skipped this challenge!
People often get demotivated if they have made to many of those, but most importantly what people forget about, is taking the essence from them and learn something new.
MyFuture:
In your opinion what young people shouldn’t waste the time on or should avoid?
Barbara Rozanska:
I think the main problem here is being unorganized. I think when you plan your day well there is a time for everything. It is good to plan your tasks and execute them well. We also cannot forget about having the right balance of work and private life. So the thing that I would avoid is closing myself at home alone and have no interest in anything or watching what others do- because this doesn’t lead you anywhere. Moreover, what everybody should avoid is making decisions based on emotions- (it is a bad advisor). Sometimes it is better to count to 10 and think what you would like to say.
MyFuture:
As a Business Women with the speed of your life, usually in what time are you working: present, past or future?
Barbara Rozanska:
I have a feeling that I m in the future if you can say so. But I do connect and mix all of them. I take the lessons from the past, look at the present time and implement it for the future. I think you can predict and calculate a lot those days.
The End…
