GREEN GO

Youth mobility focusing on environmentally friendly behavior

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The project aimed to implement ideas related to caring for the environment and our planet, developed by Polish, Portuguese, and Greek students. Participants learned more about sustainable development and eco-friendly habits. The project aimed to increase motivation to take small steps towards improving the environment, raise awareness about climate change, eco-friendly lifestyles, develop their own habits, and exchange knowledge and experiences with international youth.

During the mobility, participants had the opportunity to visit organizations and companies such as:

Zakłady Automatyki KOMBUD SA – a company from Radom specializing in railway traffic control systems;

Jedlnia-Letnisko Municipal Office, where they met with representatives of the environmental department.

During their mobility, the youth participated in workshops on zero food waste, waste sorting, environmental pollution, water retention, and sewage treatment. They were also tasked with developing solutions to environmental problems.

To reach as many people as possible with the knowledge they gained, the youth visited a local school in Jedlnia-Letnisko and conducted an environmental quiz for eight classes, from kindergarten to seventh grade.

The youth’s stay was enriched with cultural, language, and soft skills workshops.

There was also plenty of time for networking and sightseeing. Participants also had the opportunity to take a trip to Warsaw, where they saw the Royal Castle area, Krakowskie Przedmieście Street, the National Stadium, the Copernicus Science Centre, and the Palace of Culture and Science, among other attractions. They also toured Krakow, where they visited Wawel Castle, the legendary dragon, St. Mary’s Basilica, and Krakow’s Main Market Square, admiring the architecture of the buildings.

The workshops were co-organized with the Portuguese partner EduPlus and the Greek partner Mobility World Space. Supporting the project were Kombud, the Radom City Hall, the Jedlnia-Letnisko Commune Office, Radom Zielone Pionki Waterworks, and the Marshal Józef Piłsudski Public Primary School in Jedlnia-Letnisko.
